Tim Laney is Chairman, President and CEO of National Bank Holdings Corporation (NYSE: NBHC). Its subsidiary, NBH Bank, is a growing community bank franchise, founded in 2009 and built from several formational acquisitions. Its family of brands includes Bank Midwest, Community Banks of Colorado and Hillcrest Bank and serves small businesses, consumers and mid-large size commercial and specialty businesses, with over  90 banking centers across Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico and Texas.

Tim has over 30 years of experience leading financial services companies in the public sector, including Bank of America and Regions Financial Services. In 2016, Tim received the Colorado Banker of Distinction award, recognizing outstanding leadership, dedication and support of activities vital to the health of local businesses and the community.

Mr. Brian Lilly has extensive industry knowledge, with over 30 years of financial services experience. Most recently, Brian was Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of F.N.B. Corporation, where he was responsible for all activities of finance, investor relations, treasury, asset and liability committee, credit administration, risk management, technology and operations, legal, facilities and consumer finance. He was a key leader in FNB’s mergers and acquisitions strategy and execution, helping to build FNB into a leading $12 billion regional bank holding company. Prior to the Chief Operating Officer role, he spent six years as FNB’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer, having reestablished those functions following the unique spin-off of the company in 2003. Prior to joining FNB, Brian had a 15-year tenure at PNC Financial, where he held line-of-business and geographic Chief Financial Officer roles as well as co-heading corporate strategic planning.

Richard U. Newfield, Jr.

As chief risk officer of National Bank Holdings Corp., Mr. Richard U. Newfield, Jr. is responsible for risk management operations, including compliance, operational, credit and market risk as well as business services credit, credit operations, problem asset management, risk analytics and regulatory affairs.

He is the former head of business services credit at Regions Bank, where he joined in 2008 after a 23-year career at Bank of America. Mr. Newfield held various senior positions at Bank of America, including roles in risk management, credit, commercial banking, global bank debt and corporate marketing.

Mr. Newfield has significant experience in the development and implementation of business models and the integration of businesses during mergers. In addition, he has led credit process reengineering initiatives, including risk and credit policy design, and corporate governance.

Zsolt K. Besskó

Zsolt has been with us since 2013 and currently oversees our legal, human resources, loan operations, deposit operations, facilities and enterprise technology functions. He brings significant experience in banking, corporate, securities, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance matters over the span of his 20-year career. Prior to joining us, Zsolt was a partner with the law firm of Stinson Leonard Street LLP and prior to that, a shareholder of the law firm of Jones & Keller, P.C. Previously, he served as the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Guaranty Bancorp, a publicly traded bank holding company, where he oversaw the company's legal and compliance departments. As an attorney in private practice, Zsolt assisted publicly traded and privately held companies and financial institutions involving mergers and acquisitions, securities transactions, SEC reporting, corporate governance, executive compensation, employment and human resources, regulatory issues and general corporate matters. He began his legal career at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York City.

Prior to joining Bank Midwest in 2013, Whitney was Senior Vice President of Retail Brand Strategy and Management at Bank of America, where she oversaw and generated brand-building solutions for the card, deposits, small business and home loans lines of business. In her dual role as Chief Marketing Officer and Market President, Whitney leads community building initiatives, integrated brand strategy and marketing programs, product development and client service initiatives. She is involved in many organizations throughout the community including the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, where she serves on the Executive Women’s Leadership Council, Kansas City Central Exchange, and board of directors for Hope House. She has also served as a mentor to marketing and MBA students at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and the University of Kansas.

Patrick G. Sobers

Patrick Sobers is the Executive Vice President for Business and Consumer Banking for Bank Midwest. He is responsible for overseeing the success of banking centers in Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico and Texas.

Mr. Sobers has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry.  Prior to joining NBH Bank, he held several leadership positions at Bank of America. Those roles included serving as the Southeast Region’s Consumer Banking Executive, with responsibility for the 382 banking centers in the cities of Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh, Atlanta, Nashville, Memphis and Chattanooga; Customer Service and Solutions Executive, responsible for the 36 Deposit and Card client service call centers; Premier Banking and Investments Regional Executive for Florida and Georgia, now Merrill Lynch Wealth Management; and Tampa Market President.

Mr. Sobers holds a BAS in Business Administration from Boston University.  Patrick has been very active in the communities where he has resided, serving on the boards of numerous civic and charitable organizations. He is currently a member of the Foundation Board of the Moffitt Cancer Center.

Brendan Zahl

Brendan is currently NBH Bank’s Executive Vice President, Residential Banking and Market President for the Colorado Springs Region and also serves as a member of NBH Bank’s Board of Directors since the merger of Peoples, Inc. and NBH Bank on January 1, 2018. Prior to joining the company, Brendan served as President and CEO of Peoples National Bank. Brendan began his banking career at FirstBank in Colorado Springs, CO. After a decade at FirstBank, he moved to Peoples National Bank in 2007 to take over Retail and Lending Management. In 2012, he was promoted to President and CEO of Peoples National Bank. Brendan serves on the Board and as the Chairman-Elect of the Colorado Bankers Association and the Board of Partners in Housing. He is actively involved in his community and has held several board, advisory, and volunteer roles with many community organizations including Partners in Housing, Junior Achievement, United Way, Rotary International, and Habitat for Humanity. Brendan attended the University of Nebraska and graduated with honors with a Business Administration degree and was a team member of two National Championship Football teams for the Cornhuskers.

Tricia Maxon

Tricia Maxon is the Director of Small Business Banking. Ms. Maxon has been with Community Banks of Colorado since 2006.  She has lived in Telluride since 1991, with a Colorado background that includes seven years as Senior Lender at First National Bank of Telluride (now Alpine Bank), and seven years as President of The Bank of Telluride, a WestStar Bank (now US Bank) with additional responsibilities for the Aspen, Norwood and Montrose markets.

Ms. Maxon began her banking career in New York City. From 1985 – 1988 Ms. Maxon was an officer in the Commercial Real Estate group at Marine Midland Bank in Manhattan.  She was a Vice President in the Real Estate Finance Group of Chase Manhattan Bank from 1988-1991.

Ms. Maxon holds a BA from Trinity College in Connecticut, with a double major in Economics and Spanish.  She also holds an MBA in Finance from Fordham University.  Ms. Maxon is very involved in the Telluride community. She is a Board member of The Telluride Foundation, has served on the Board of the Telluride Montrose Regional Air Organization, the Board of Telluride Visitors Services, and is the former President of the Telluride Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Ruth Stevenson

Ruth Stevenson has worked in a variety of roles in financial services for more than 40 plus years. She has served as President and Chief Operating Officer and on the Board of Directors for Peoples Bank for the last 18 years. Other bank positions includes a Community Bank President, Director of Retail, Director of a Mortgage division, Operations Manager for a Mortgage division and has served in just about every capacity in banking and mortgage. Ruth is married with two children and 7 wonderful grandchildren.

Charlie Wooten attended the University of Kansas, proud to be home of 14 straight Big 12 basketball conference titles. 

Charlie started his banking career with UMB, then moved to Bank IV. That bank with through a number of mergers from Boatmen’s to NationsBank and finally to Bank of America.

From Bank of America he then moved on to Peoples for 17 years first as a Business Development Officer and then promoted to Community President and Chief Lending Officer. After People's Bank was purchased by Bank Midwest, he moved into the Commercial Market Manager role he holds today. 

Charlie is married and has three children.
